Recipients may include founders of nonprofit organizations, community leaders, advocates, healthcare professionals, researchers, educators, policymakers, philanthropists, and others whose lifelong dedication has improved the lives of survivors of violence, individuals with disabilities, people affected by Sickle Cell Disease, and other underserved and vulnerable populations.
The award also honors those who have helped shape legislation, developed innovative programs, advanced culturally responsive services, strengthened public systems, or championed the rights, safety, health, and empowerment of women, girls, families, and marginalized communities.
Each nomination is carefully reviewed by Alaafia to recognize individuals whose lifetime achievements demonstrate exceptional leadership, integrity, service, and a lasting legacy of positive change.
