Rise Above: Thriving Beyond Domestic and Sexual Violence is committed to offering culturally tailored support and services to African immigrants and individuals affected by Sickle Cell who have endured sexual or domestic violence.
Our holistic approach provides both virtual and in-person resources, supported by a 24-hour call, text, and chat line, ensuring that survivors have access to help whenever they need it. We serve as a critical connector, facilitating seamless coordination with shelters, hospitals, courts, social services, and law enforcement. Our focus is on addressing the immediate needs of survivors—such as transportation, food, clothing, and temporary housing—so they can navigate their crisis with dignity and ease.
This project will have a lasting impact on service delivery by expanding the reach, improving the quality, and ensuring the sustainability of support for the African immigrant and Sickle Cell communities. By addressing urgent needs and transforming how services are provided, Rise Above will contribute to building a safer and more supportive community for these vulnerable populations.
