The Greater Milwaukee Foundation funds this project.
This project extends to African immigrants and residents of Promise Zone areas, focusing on reducing violence through strengthened local organizational capacity and stakeholder collaboration. Our goal is to empower communities and utilize evidence-based strategies to effectively decrease violence.
Activities will involve organizing workshops on violence prevention, creating collaborative platforms for resource sharing and best practices, implementing community-based interventions such as mentorship programs for at-risk youth, and launching awareness campaigns to highlight the importance of violence prevention.
The project’s activities are designed to foster community cohesion and strengthen relationships among residents, youth, business owners, and other stakeholders through a multifaceted approach.
This initiative will have a significant impact on the Promise Zone and its residents by addressing violence head-on and fostering a safer, more unified community. By enhancing organizational capabilities and improving stakeholder coordination, we aim to reach and positively influence over 10,000 individuals through multimedia campaigns, including bus posters, billboards, flyers, and social media outreach.
