About Alaafia Digital Career Training

Alaafia is dedicated to breaking down barriers that disproportionately affect disabled individuals and communities of color through vocational and technical training. Our comprehensive approach includes a wide range of in-person and online training programs geared toward nurturing vocational and technical skills. One of our flagship initiatives, the Digital Media Training Program, is tailored to offer digital career training to those facing disadvantages in the digital realm. This initiative is specifically geared towards individuals with disabilities, those living with sickle cell disease, African immigrants, survivors of domestic and sexual violence, and their families.

Initially conceived to provide career training to individuals affected by sickle cell disease and their families in the United States, this program has since expanded its reach, empowering numerous disadvantaged individuals to achieve financial independence and work remotely.

The program comprises a 12-week curriculum of digital career training and certification. The core objective of the Digital Career Training Program is to equip individuals with knowledge and career prospects in the dynamic digital media industry. Participants delve into various facets of digital media, encompassing graphic design, video editing, graphic design, social media marketing, and web development. Guided by seasoned industry professionals, participants gain practical experience through hands-on projects and assignments, acquiring proficiency in the latest industry tools and techniques. Moreover, the program strongly emphasizes honing soft skills like effective communication, teamwork, and time management, which are pivotal for success in any job and set our graduates apart in the competitive digital media sector.
